Bringing ERS’ plan administrators to you

ERS and plan administrators travel around the state, hosting events to help you make informed decisions about the benefits available to you. You may attend any fair or presentation, not just those at your agency or institution. You can also join one of our webinars. All events are free and open to all employees.

Making a smooth move to Delta Dental

Perhaps the biggest change this year is the new third-party administrator (TPA) for the State of Texas Dental Choice Plan and new dental health maintenance organization (see GBP dental plans get a new administrator).

Delta Dental representatives will be at all Summer Enrollment fairs so you can ask any questions you have in person.  “It’s important for the employees to understand what their plan options are because there are several to choose from,” said Tammy Adams, Delta Dental.

Adams knows TPA changes can be stressful for members and is eager to address any concerns state agency and institution employees may have. “We want them to feel confident to make any decision they need to,” Adams said.

Protecting you from life’s curve balls

Through the Texas Income Protection PlanSM (TIPP), you can apply for short-term and long-term disability insurance. This insurance can help you make ends meet if you can’t work because of an illness or injury. Disability coverage also helps you pay the bills if you can't work because of pregnancy complications or recovery from childbirth.

Natalia Frank, from ReedGroup, plan administrator for TIPP, appreciates the chance to meet  employees they have helped. “We do so much over the phone with the employees and we rarely get to see them face to face,” Frank stated. She uses that time to provide that “one-on-one touch – to let people know that we’re here to help them. We care about what they are going through.”

When Lynn Gordon attends a Summer Enrollment fair, her main goal is to inform members about their life insurance benefits and additional choices they have. Gordon is an account executive at Securian, the TPA for the life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance plans available through the GBP.

Most people spend a lot of time reviewing their health and dental insurance benefits because those are a more immediate need,” Gordon observed. “But life insurance is just as important.
