Whether you’ve been a State of Texas worker for one year or twenty, consider reviewing your benefits at least once a year to make sure you’re enrolled in the best benefits options for you and your dependents.
The most common QLEs include:
- birth or adoption,
- employment status change for you or a dependent and
- significant change in cost or coverage for dependents’ non-GBP health or dental coverage, cost of day care, leave of absence or return from leave.
You have 31 days, including the QLE event date, to enroll in or make changes to your benefits.

IRS guidelines limit how often you can make changes to your benefits. If you’re beyond your first 31 days of employment, you have two opportunities to make changes to your benefits throughout the year:
What can you do anytime?
You can make changes to your Texa$aver
