The respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common respiratory virus. Although it usually causes only mild, cold-like symptoms, RSV can be serious. Infants and older adults. Vaccines are now available to protect some infants and young children and adults age 60 years and older, all of whom are more likely to develop severe RSV and need hospitalization. The HealthSelect of TexasSM and Consumer Directed HealthSelectSM medical plans cover RSV vaccination for these groups.
