What steps should you be taking to get ready for retirement? Whether retirement is five years or 20 years away, this is a question that needs a reliable answer. If you’re a Texa$averSM
401(k) / 457 Program participant, you can connect with a Texa$aver Retirement Plan Advisor at no cost to yourself and get the financial answers you need.
Who are the Texa$aver Retirement Plan Advisors? What can they do for me?
Texa$aver Retirement Plan Advisors (RPAs) can help you, as a plan participant, create and manage an investment portfolio based on your individual goals. They can provide you guidance on reaching your retirement goals, including savings rate, withdrawal strategy and investment allocation. Texa$aver RPAs can also project your future retirement income from all sources, including the ERS Retirement Trust Fund, Social Security, the Texa$aver program and personal retirement accounts like IRAs.
If you don't currently have a Texa$aver account, an RPA can explain the benefits of opening an account and provide advice on savings goals and investment allocation.
Texa$aver RPAs are investment professionals who can provide you advice
on reaching your financial goals, not just information. They sometimes are referred to as Education Counselors. However, RPA is the more accurate name for them since they are licensed to advise you about steps to take toward retirement readiness.
We introduced you to the six Texa$aver RPAs located around the state in this News About Your Benefits article
. As a Texa$aver participant, you can schedule a personalized virtual meeting or phone call Monday–Friday with one of these investment professionals at no cost to you. Find your RPA's contact information on the Texa$aver RPA map
Texa$aver Information Session webinars in November
On November 16 and 18, the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) will conduct two Texa$aver webinars. Jennifer Preston, a Texa$aver RPA located in Austin, and Mike McLellan, the north Texas-based Texa$aver RPA, will be the webinar presenters. Jennifer and Mike have more than 30 years' combined experience in the financial services industry.
Each webinar will include a question-and-answer session, so you can ask general questions directly to ERS and Jennifer or Mike. We will answer as many as possible during the hour-long webinar. (Please note: If you have more personal financial planning questions, you should schedule a virtual appointment
with a Texa$aver RPA.)
You can attend the webinar from the convenience of your computer or other device. Attend one––or attend both!
