Website Accessibility Policy
Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) is committed to making its website accessible to all users. We have adopted the access standards of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and therefore all web pages that are built, updated or revised must comply with Section 508 requirements. Section 508 establishes a minimum standard for accessibility and web pages, but our developers are encouraged to go beyond the minimum whenever possible.
We have included features designed to improve accessibility for users with disabilities. Following are some examples of these features:
- To aid users who listen to content with a screen reader, we provide descriptions of pictures and graphics
- A 'skip to' link allows users to bypass the header and main navigation links and go directly to the main content of a page each time it is accessed.
Most agency publications, job postings, and many forms on our website are in Portable Document Format (PDF). We provide instructions on our On Line Conversion Tool for Using Adobe Acrobat PDF page to assist visually impaired users in converting the PDF files into HTML using a free Adobe tool. With this tool, the user can read PDF files with a screen reader.
If you use assistive technology and the format of any material on our website interferes with your ability to access the information, please contact the ERS web accessibility coordinator via email@example.com.
